Step 1 — Clean the surface
Wipe the inside of the cabinet door and frame with a dry cloth. Adhesive bonds poorly to dust or kitchen grease, and this thirty-second step is the difference between a latch that lasts years and one that fails in a week.
Step 2 — Position before you peel
Hold the latch in place and close the door once to check the alignment. Mark the position lightly with a pencil. Only then peel the adhesive backing.

Step 3 — Press and hold
Press each adhesive pad firmly for a full 30 seconds. Count it out — most failed installations come from a quick dab instead of a real press.
Step 4 — Wait before testing
The adhesive reaches full strength in 24 hours. Resist the urge to tug on it — and keep your little tester away until tomorrow.
